The public holiday that never was. National Burger Day.
It’s probably already marked in your diary, but just in case it isn’t – 27 August is the second annual Mr Hyde National Burger Day.
Founded last year in a fit of mild indignation that there wasn’t a National Burger Day in the UK, but were two in the US (and a National Cheeseburger Day), the event set out to right that wrong. And we’ll modestly call it a huge success: more than 150 UK restaurants offered a 20 per cent burger discount, and there was a flagship street food event in London’s Dalston Yard.
This year will be bigger and better. The street food event (in association with Tweat Up) will have more traders (tickets on sale 14 August), free drinks and even more restaurants have signed up.
To qualify for the discount, you’ll need a voucher – head to the link below to download it, then grab your diary and a thick red pen to mark the day.
